ekostadinov/web-linters repository overview

Overview

This Docker image provides a way to run HTML, CSS, JS linters via NPM's csslint, sass-lint, htmllint-cli and eslint inside of a Docker container. If you're looking for a way to lint your Web resources, this is the project you've been looking for!

htmllint-cli

htmllint uses a parser to get the DOM for your HTML. It then runs using the provided rules (and default rules) to lint both the DOM and then individual lines.

csslint

CSSLint is an open source CSS code quality tool. A lint tool performs static analysis of source code and flags patterns that might be errors or otherwise cause problems for the developer.

eslint

ESLint is a tool for identifying and reporting on patterns found in ECMAScript/JavaScript code. In many ways, it is similar to JSLint and JSHint with a few exceptions.

sass-lint

A Node-only Sass linter for both sass and scss syntax!

Use cases include:

Run continuously static quality checks via the listed linters powered by CI server jobs.

Images

  • node Base Docker image (Installs nodejs).

Methodology

The key to this project is to get linters to work inside of a nodejs container. TDD is utilized via dockerlint and serverspec.
