⁠Kitematic Ubuntu

⁠What is this?

This Docker Image is based off the Kitematic repository⁠ and compiled to allow docker users on Linux to access their container images. This is based off the Ubuntu Bionic Minimal 18.04 image

⁠How could I start it?

docker run -d --net host --name kitematic \
-v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix \
-e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY  \
-v $HOME/.Xauthority:/root/.Xauthority \
-v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock \
--privileged=true itachi1706/docker-ubuntu-kitematic

You can also create a script with this for first start

(It takes time to startup, ~30s)

⁠I've closed the kitematic window, but now I want it back again...

If you want to restart kitematic, just execute docker restart kitematic (Place it into a script for easy access)

⁠Why do you mount sockets for xorg and docker/it is privileged

This is due to the fact that this image is intended for users to manage their linux docker instances on the host system in which this kitematic docker image resides in. As most people will make use of SSH to access their servers remotely, with xorg socket mounted it allows us to display a GUI through SSH and X11

You are free to create your own if you do not trust this, simply just install nodejs and build essentials, clone the main repository and make it
