This microservice is used to simulate vehicles travelling in the "real world" whilst sending GPS messages to a central queue.
We have a set of in-memory files (derived from some real world journeys).
To run locally
docker container run -d --network fleetman --name fleetman-position-simulator -e "SPRING_PROFILES_ACTIVE=local-microservice" richardchesterwood/k8s-fleetman-position-simulator:release1
(The name isn't important as no other service looks this one up, but we use one for consistency).
The service will attempt to connect to a queue implemented in a container with the name fleetman-queue. It will back off every 5 seconds until successful.
A further profile, production-microservice, is available for k8s environments.
