supertypo/htnd repository overview

Containerized HTND (x86 and ARM).

About

https://hoosat.fi

HTND release binaries for linux/amd64 and linux/arm64 are compiled from the corresponding tag from the official repository at:
https://github.com/Hoosat-Oy/HTND (ISC licensed)

The htnd release url (and tag) is exposed as an environment variable in the container:

sudo docker run --rm supertypo/htnd:latest env | grep URL

The commit id from which the release has been built is also exposed as an environment variable in the container:

sudo docker run --rm supertypo/htnd:latest env | grep VERSION

Prerequisites

Make sure your system is up to date first (this example is for Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade -y

Reboot now if you're told to after the updates have been installed.

Install and enable Docker daemon
sudo apt install docker.io docker-compose
sudo systemctl enable docker
Make your node public (optional)

Public nodes are important for the network, please consider making your node public.
If your host is running on a private network behind an uPNP-capable router you can easily open the consensus-port using the following command:

sudo docker run --rm --network=host alpine sh -c 'apk add miniupnpc; upnpc -r 16111 tcp'

Run HTND:

Create datadir and set correct permissions
sudo mkdir -p /var/htnd && sudo chown 40591 -R /var/htnd
Start / upgrade HTND container

You can use the below commands both for first time setup of HTND and for upgrading to the newest build.

sudo docker rm -f htnd
sudo docker run --pull always -d --restart unless-stopped \
  -v /var/htnd/:/app/data/ -p 16110:16110 -p 16111:16111 \
  --name htnd supertypo/htnd:latest
Tail logs:
sudo docker logs -n 1000 -f htnd

The node is fully synced when it prints lots of "Accepted block ..." lines.

Clear database and resync (if needed)
sudo docker stop htnd
sudo rm -r /var/htnd/.htnd
sudo docker start htnd

Using the cli wallet

Requires a fully synced node (see above).

Creating a new wallet

NB!! Copy and keep the displayed 24-word seed in a secure manner. Failure to do so WILL result in lost funds.

docker exec -it htnd htnwallet create && docker exec -it htnd htnwallet dump-unencrypted-data

NB!! Copy and keep the displayed 24-word seed in a secure manner. Failure to do so WILL result in lost funds.

Importing an existing wallet
docker exec -it htnd htnwallet create --import
Interacting with the wallet - start the wallet daemon first
docker exec htnd htnwallet start-daemon &>/dev/null &
Creating a new address
docker exec htnd htnwallet new-address
Displaying balance
docker exec htnd htnwallet balance -v
Sending funds
docker exec -it htnd htnwallet send -t <hoosat:address> -v <amount>
